Lego NXT (8527) Software

The Lego Minstorm NXT robot can walk, talk, hear, touch and see!

Program your robot to do what you want! Use the LEGO Mindstorms NXT 8527 software to make a program, and download it to your robot via USB cable or Bluetooth.

Once you have built your robot, using the instructions provided, or just letting your imagination run wild, you will want to program it. Fortunately, the Lego Mindstorms NXT (8527) comes with intuitive Lego NXT software! It is very much a drag-and-drop, bolt-together programming tool. Very simple to use, but with the capability to develop advanced programming for your NXT robot.

The software that is installed on to your computer (powered by LabVIEW) can also connect to your Lego Mindstorms NXT robot's all-new Intelligent Brick with its 32-bit microprocessor, via USB cable or Bluetooth.

Lego NXT (8527) Software

Enables you to program your amazing robotic invention and upload your programs to the NXT via USB or Bluetooth connectivity. This intuitive MAC and PC compatible drag and drop software powered by LabView comes with building instructions and programming guides to enable you to easily get started with constructing and programming with Mindstorm NXT. See an overview of what is included in the software, and computer requirements, below.

Bluetooth

With wireless Bluetooth (your computer needs to have Bluetooth already installed, or you can buy a Bluetooth Dongle that attaches to your computer via an USB port to give you this capacity), you can establish a wireless connection between your robot and your computer - even if your robot is at the other side of the room. You can also exchange programs between one NXT and other NXTs. If you have a mobile phone with Bluetooth capability, you can use your mobile to control your robot! See below for supported Bluetooth adapters.

See the included robots HERE. The Programming pallette gives you drag-and-drop pieces of programming you will want to use most often, while the Configuration panel helps you tweak it to your individual needs. This is a highly sophisticated piece of programming software that even a ten year old can use. The drag-and-drop features really do make programming your robot childs play. And you get a User Manual (as well as a set of Quick Start Intructions), giving you in step-by-step instructions how to build your first robot. It is so easy, you could have your first robot built and programmed within an hour! If you really want to take it to the next level, you can get books that show you how - see Resources.
